I thought I would take the opportunity to introduce Maisie, our new cocker spaniel puppy.

During the summer we sadly lost our 12 year old springer spaniel, Sally. Life with Sally was very easy! She came to work every day at the Funky Labels office and was a much-loved member of the team. As she was older, she was very easy to manage and have around the workplace.

We thought we could manage without another dog, but our life felt so empty. No long walks at the beach with her running in and out of the waves. She left a huge hole in our life.

In our wisdom, we thought we’d get a puppy. I mean, how difficult could a puppy be? We started researching and found a lovely local breeder and before we knew it, we had an 8-week-old, chocolate brown, cocker spaniel. Her mother was a lovely temperament, she was so warm and friendly. We instantly fell in love with Maisie, who couldn’t? So, that was it, she was coming home with us.

Well, it’s certainly been a bit of a whirlwind since Maisie arrived 4 weeks ago. I think we totally forgot how much work a puppy is! The chewing, sleepless nights, and oh the puppy toys are everywhere.

We couldn’t do much about the chewing and sleepless nights. However, organising the puppy toys was a quick fix. Or so we thought! Sally used to have a Personalised Dog Toy Basket which was a heavy grey canvas bag for keeping her toys in one place. So, we printed one for Maise. Unfortunately, that didn’t work. Maisie thought the handles were great for dragging around and chewing!

With thinking caps on in the office, we decided to engrave one of our wooden crates with a paw print design for Maisie. We think it may still get chewed but hopefully not dragged around quite so much. We loved it so much, we’ve launched the Personalised Dog Toy Box as a new product!
